Why do we need a luggage tag?

As I said, the tag is the main way of recognizing property. If your luggage is lost or dropped during transportation to the airport, only thanks to the data on the tag, the airport staff will be able to contact you and return the lost items.

In addition, we know that passengers’ suitcases are often very similar to each other. Therefore, the tag can serve as an important distinguishing feature, thanks to which your luggage will remain only in your hands.

What are the types of tags?

There are a lot of materials for their manufacture. Most manufacturers make sure that the tag doesn’t need to be sewn to the suitcase additionally, and include this in the design of the luggage.

The tag consists of a main pocket and a small sticker that contains your contacts. The tag should be protected with a transparent plastic wrap so as not to get damaged in bad weather conditions, and also tightly sewn to the suitcase.

In case the outer tag gets damaged in transit, we recommend that you additionally create an inner tag inside the suitcase.

What information should the tag contain?

You don’t have to give out too much personal information. It’s enough to provide the airport staff with feedback, for this you must indicate your name, phone number and, possibly, the address where the baggage should be sent in case of loss. We also recommend changing your tag before each flight and writing your flight itinerary so that staff can easily find you in the database and learn more contact details.

Conclusion

My opinion about baggage is to ensure that it’s protected by any means. And a baggage tag is one of the easiest and most effective ways to avoid unpleasant situations at the airport. What do you think?
