The composition of the backpack can include a homogeneous material (100%) or a combined one. Natural fabrics are often mixed with synthetic ones to add durability to the accessory. Therefore, when choosing a cleaning method, you should focus on the conditions for caring for both types of fabrics. All main types of materials can be divided into leather, synthetic and natural. Based on the structural features, you need to choose a way to care for the accessory.
Any washing of leather products (even artificial ones) is strictly prohibited. For constant care of leather backpacks, use wet wipes and slightly moistened cloths, and don’t use hard brushes. If it’s too dirty, you can use special cleaning agents, which retain their structure upon exposure. However, backpacks made of artificial leather are less whimsical to care for, it’s enough to wipe them.
In case of hard-to-remove stains, leather products are not cleaned but painted over with special liquid leather, you can buy it at any shoe or accessory store.
With the rest of the backpacks, everything is much easier. It’s recommended to wash synthetic backpacks every 2-3 months not to lose the bag color. However, it should be washed separately from all other clothes to avoid their coloring. And also, dry it on air – it’s much better for saving a backpack form.
